The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded money to the Philadelphia Youth For Change Charter School and Connection Training Services as part of grants allocated for YouthBuild organizations.

The funding is part of national awards granted to 183 community groups for education and training. YouthBuild assists youths in obtaining high school diplomas or GEDs and occupational training in construction.

Those involved in YouthBuild are learning to build and renovate affordable housing as well as learning green building methods, retrofitting homes and ways to be environmentally conscious.
