Contact: ELAINE COHEN (610-352-2689)
In his book, Six Songs for the World, Daniel Levitan discusses why humans developed a need for music. In a similar vein, it seems humans have a need for religion, and similar spiritual experiences. Good religion is a culture element which encourages people to help each other, and makes society work. Today, good religion also encourages people to care for Planet Earth, and develop sustainable living patterns. For many years, Sustainable Society Action Project has been holding an ecology seder at the end of Passover. It is open to all, whether Jewish or not. Being Jewish, we had to utilize themes from Judaism, but we hope that others will develop similar rituals within their own religious traditions. The celebration is based on the Spring themes, which are subordinate to the freedom themes of Passover. We hope to see many of you there, to "observe the month of Spring with us". Advance registration required by 4/10. $8 for adults / children are free.
