Here's a gift that gives back: With Sierra Club’s new “Sponsor a Wild Place” program, you can sponsor a national park like Yosemite or the Grand Canyon in honor of a friend or family member, and the friend or family member will be sent a package with a stuffed animal that represents that park, along with a sponsorship certificate, photo, and info about that park. You can send someone you love a cute bear in honor of Yosemite, an alligator in honor of the Everglades, a seal in honor of Acadia, or pick from a half-dozen other special places to sponsor around the country. And in case your gift recipient is too old for a stuffed animal, the Sierra Club can send them a special backpack instead for all their outdoor adventures.

100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Sierra Club’s work to protect our environment. Sponsoring a Wild Place is a great bargain gift this holiday season because you can make your year-end donation to a good cause and send a great gift to a nature-lover on your list at the same time.

More info, photos, and a list of all the different parks that people can sponsor, is available at www.sierraclub.org/wildplaces

Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been instrumental in preserving wilderness, wildlife, and nature’s most splendid wild places – Yellowstone National Park and Yosemite National Park, to name just a few – helping protect over 230 million acres of wildlands and wildlife habitat and over 11,000 miles of wild and scenic rivers. Wild Places sponsorships help support the Sierra Club’s ongoing efforts to protect wild places from development and global warming.
