No Recession of Jobs for Wind Industry

In a sign of the new horizons of energy production in the United States, Wind Power grew so explosively in 2008 that it now employs more Americans than coal mining. The Great Recession is putting a hamper on all industries and as such the Wind Industry will not expand as much in 2009, however the results seen in this particular industry are a great sign of how alternative energy can create jobs here at home.

It is important for the coal industry to be put to rest, as it is a detriment to our air quality, as well as the planet in general. The mining of coal, along with the disposal of waste it creates is awfully harmful to our environment, as the ash spills in Appalachian in recent years has proven.

The long-term of Wind looks promising, especially if Congress goes through with a cap on carbon emissions. This will force large investments into new technologies, and Wind has proven itself to be a great step in the right direction.
