The July 4th deadline for Home Inspectors to register for the Green Continuing Education Scholarships is quickly closing in as the summer heats up. On Memorial Day 2010, GREENandSAVE’s Eco Academy, announced the launch of an unprecedented $1 million Energy Service Scholarship Program (ESSP) to help create green job opportunities and stay ahead of the expanding demand for trained green building and energy specialists.
Since home owners are increasingly making energy saving improvements to their homes, home inspectors need to be ‘tuned in’ to the new technologies and tactics that they will encounter over the course of any inspection. From ‘on-demand’ hot water heaters to ‘hybrid’ heat-pump water heaters or from solar water heaters to solar photovoltaic panels…the landscape is changing quickly. Home Inspectors need to stay ahead fo the curve. To put this opportunity in perspective for Home Inspectors, the Eco Academy courses and programs are so well respected across the industry that they have met the rigorous curriculum approval for Continuing Education Credits from the two premier National Home Inspection Organizations that represent over 10,000 US Home Professionals. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) have set the industry benchmarks for quality service, and this Home Efficiency curriculum is approved for 8 Credits from each organization. Plus, the Eco Academy’s Chief Instructor, Charlie Szoradi (LEED AP & BPI Certified) was the guest instructor at the annual fall conference and workshop for the tri-state ASHI held outside of Philadelphia in the fall of 2009. This Green Scholarship brings the cost of each credit to under $25.
