I have noticed that we have too much stuff. I do not have enough room for all of the things that I own, and everything in my home does not have to be here. I have been considering ways to lessen the amount of stuff that I have in my home, and the idea of a community swap sounds interesting.

Simply Living Part 1: Previously I discussed my preparations for a big moving day. In part 2, I lay out how I intend to pull off the process of simplifying without being wasteful.

Think about life without all of the clutter, messiness and material possessions. I am trying to learn to live a more simple life in preparation for a move that I will be making. I do not want to take all of the things that I own with me.

It is important that we teach our children to live greener lives, to care for our Earth. Being a green role model for children is an important step in this process.

My daughter’s school does not serve the healthiest, most appetizing food. As a result, I send food with her. While researching what foods I was going to send to school with her, we came across a more environmentally friendly way to prepare lunches.

We incorporated these reusable items into her lunches:

Indoor winter herb gardens make it possible to enjoy fresh herbs year round. These herbs can be grown organically, in an Earth-friendly manner.

The first step is to gather all necessary materials.

I have wondered about many aspects of cat care over the last six years. Presently, we have six cats. Two more have been visiting for a couple of months, but will eventually move into their owner’s home.

As you can see, I love cats and want them to be happy and healthy. Here are some eco-friendly tips I have learned along the way.

I have asthma, so most traditional cleaners make it nearly impossible for me to breath. I also have sensitive skin, so I can't use a lot of the laundry products on the market. These problems have made me rethink how I clean every area of our home.

One of the first green actions that my daughters and I took in greening our lives was to look into alternative ways to get around town. We are not perfect. I’m not pretending that we never get into a car, but we are not in vehicles every day. To limit my vehicle use, I run errands with my mother, best friend. or sisters. Both of my daughters carpool to hang out with their friends.

Health is a very important consideration when feeding our families. We have to be sure that everyone has the proper serving sizes of the right types of food. It is our responsibility as parents to be sure that we are choosing the healthiest foods that we can find. For that reason, many parents turn to natural, organic food.
